ROBotic Assisted Ultrasonography SysTem (ROBUST) for Radiographers in the Healthcare Industry

The innovation reduces work-related musculoskeletal disorders in radiographers due to repetitive movements and awkward scanning positions. The ROBUST aids radiographers in performing ultrasound by holding and moving the transducer, while a 6- Degree Of Freedom controller enables remote control. Image quality showed no significant difference between ROBUST and manual scanning. Both radiographer and patient groups reported good comfort and acceptance of the innovation.
